Biofeedback supported Psychotherapy

More calmness, energy and clarity

Stress is nothing unreal. It manifests in your body – in a racing heartbeat, shallow breathing or a nervous system that is constantly on high alert. Biofeedback makes visible what otherwise remains invisible.

What is biofeedback?

Biofeedback is a scientifically based method in which the body's own signals are measured in real time and displayed on a screen. You see live how your body reacts to thoughts, situations, and breaths—and learn to actively influence these reactions.

What sounds like high-tech follows a simple principle: Perception enables change. What you see, you can control.

Many people who suffer from stress have one thing in common: They sense that something is wrong—but they don't know how to counteract it. The body seems to have a life of its own.

Biofeedback breaks precisely this cycle. Instead of fighting against stress, you learn to:

Perceive early stress signals before they become entrenched

Use targeted regulation strategies that have been proven to calm the nervous system

Experience self-efficacy—the feeling of not being at the mercy of your own body.

HRV training – your direct line to the nervous system

My work focuses on heart rate variability (HRV) training. Heart rate variability describes the subtle variation between successive heartbeats—a measure of how flexibly and efficiently your autonomic nervous system functions.

A healthy, relaxed nervous system exhibits high HRV: heartbeat and breathing oscillate in a harmonious rhythm, the so-called state of coherence. In contrast, chronic stress disrupts this rhythm, making it rigid and irregular—the body loses its adaptability.

HRV training uses targeted breathing exercises and awareness tasks to help you actively guide your nervous system into this state of coherence. You'll see your heart rhythm changing in real time on the screen—and experience firsthand the effects of your mindset and breathing.

Who is biofeedback suitable for?

Biofeedback has proven particularly effective for:

  • Chronic stress and burnout
  • Inner restlessness, nervousness, and tension
  • Sleep disorders
  • Anxiety and panic attacks
  • Psychosomatic complaints

The method is gentle, free of side effects, and has a lasting impact – because it doesn't suppress symptoms but rather strengthens the self-regulating capacity of the nervous system.

Booking process

The first session is an initial consultation, where we'll discuss in detail the topics you'd like to work on and conduct an initial training session. Afterwards, you can simply book your next training appointment.

What happens during a biofeedback session?

  • Sensors are attached to your hands to measure your pulse and heart rate.
  • Using hypnosis or guided imagery, we enter stressful situations and release mental, physical, and emotional blocks using EMDR or EFT (see Methods).
  • During this time, you receive auditory and visual feedback about your heart rate variability, which you will be able to influence more effectively over time.
  • A session lasts 50 minutes.
