Therapy in English in Berlin – for anxiety, burnout and trauma
What weighs on you often shows on several levels: in your head, in your body and in your family. A single method is rarely enough. We have walked this path ourselves, and our five building blocks grew out of it. Which one suits you, we find out together.

What people come to us with
- Exhaustion and burnout. You keep functioning, but there is nothing left in the tank.
- Anxiety and panic. Your body raises the alarm, often without an obvious reason.
- Inner emptiness and blockages. Something is missing, or something holds you back, and you can't say what.
- Trauma and attachment. You react more strongly than the situation explains, or closeness is difficult for you.
- Psychosomatics. Your body shows symptoms, but medically everything is fine.
Often it has built up over many years, without one big event: something overwhelmed you for a long time, or something you needed wasn't there. This is called complex trauma. Symptoms can show on several levels at once. If you only work on one level, the others stay as they are.
Therapy is not just theory for us. We have each been through some of our own topics and experienced what really helped. Out of this grew our different focuses, which complement each other.
Five building blocks that interlock
You probably won't need all of them, some perhaps only later.
1. Understand what is happening in you
psychoeducation
We explain what is happening in your head, nervous system and body and why you react the way you do. Once you see how it fits together, it is no longer a mystery. This takes away fear and shame and gives you the security you need for all further steps.
2. Process what weighs on you
EMDR, EFT, wingwave, hypnosis, TRE
Some memories and inner images still weigh on you after years. We work with them directly so that they lose their force: with eye movements (EMDR, wingwave), with tapping (EFT), in hypnosis or through the body (TRE). In TRE, natural tremoring releases tension without you having to talk about it.
3. Ask what your body knows
psychosomatics, kinesiology
When your body shows symptoms and doctors find nothing, we can also ask it directly via the muscle test. We find out which theme lies behind the symptom, when it started and which feeling you couldn't feel to the end.
4. Put in order what doesn't belong to you
family constellations
Much of what weighs on you comes from your family, including things you never experienced yourself. In a family constellation it gets a place in the room, and you see it from the outside.
5. Anchor what is new
neurofeedback
So that the new stays, your brain practises with neurofeedback: through image and sound it gets feedback as soon as it finds a calm, regulated state.
Your way through the practice
There is no fixed sequence and no step-by-step plan you have to work through. You choose where to start and with whom, and you can switch at any time. Usually the way looks like this:
- Arrive and stabilise. You learn to calm your nervous system and understand what is going on in you. Without this foundation, we don't dig anything up.
- Go to the cause. When you are ready, we work on what lies behind it: in conversation, in the body and in the family system.
- Anchor. The new should arrive in everyday life. Your system practises holding a regulated state.
One thing always applies: we only go as deep as you can carry well.
Who works with you
“Two see more than one.”
We are also a couple privately and work together in the practice. If you like, you get two perspectives on your topic. You can also come to us with your partner for couples therapy.

Dr. Caroline Böttiger
through understanding
Heilpraktiker for psychotherapy (German licence) and neuroscientist with a doctorate from the Charité. Caroline explains what is happening inside you, and you learn to calm your nervous system yourself.

Andreas Weller
through the body
Heilpraktiker for psychotherapy (German licence), focus on psychosomatics. Your body and your unconscious often know where an issue comes from. Andreas makes this accessible and explains clearly what is going on, without you having to tell everything.
Frequently asked questions
Where do I start?
If you first want to understand and gain security, you often start with Caroline. If you'd rather start through the body or the family, you often start with Andreas. Both are a good beginning.
Do you tell each other what I share?
We only exchange information if you want us to.
Do I have to tell everything?
No. You decide how much you share. Several of our methods work without details.
What does a session cost?
An individual session (60 minutes) costs €120, then €30 for each further 15 minutes. We bill privately, not through public health insurance.
Is it possible online?
Yes, much of our work also works by video. Only neurofeedback takes place exclusively in the practice in Berlin-Mitte.
You don't have to know where to begin. We'll find it together.
